Not a Medical Device or Diagnostic Test
The AmyloidTest service provides an at-home dried blood sample collection kit and independent laboratory microscopy analysis for educational, informational, wellness, and research purposes only.
This service is NOT:
- A medical device as defined by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), COFEPRIS (Mexico), or any other national medical regulatory authority
- A clinical diagnostic test
- Intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, including but not limited to COVID-19, Long COVID, post-vaccine syndromes, Alzheimer's Disease, or any other medical condition
- A substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment
- Intended to replace laboratory tests ordered and interpreted by licensed healthcare providers
Our Photographic Microscopy Report contains observational laboratory findings that should be reviewed by qualified healthcare professionals for clinical interpretation.
Regulatory Status
**Mexico (COFEPRIS):**
Our laboratory partner operates in Mexico City under applicable Mexican regulations for independent laboratory services. The Thioflavin T fluorescence microscopy methodology used is aligned with published peer-reviewed research into post-viral coagulation patterns.
**United States (FDA):**
This service has not been evaluated or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. The methodology used (Thioflavin T fluorescence microscopy of dried blood spots) is not an FDA-cleared or approved diagnostic assay. It is provided as an informational laboratory service.
**International:**
This service is not approved, cleared, or licensed by any national medical regulatory authority outside of Mexico. Customers outside Mexico should be aware that this service is not regulated by their local health authorities and should consult with local healthcare providers regarding the applicability of results.
Methodology and Limitations
**What We Do:**
We use Thioflavin T (ThT) fluorescence microscopy to detect beta-sheet-rich amyloid-like fibrin structures in dried blood samples. A physician reviews the microscopy footage with AI-assisted pattern detection. This methodology is aligned with published research on post-viral coagulation patterns and amyloid-like microclot detection.
**Known Limitations:**
- This is an observational screening methodology, not a standardized clinical assay
- Results depend on sample quality, collection technique, and transit conditions
- Thioflavin T binds to beta-sheet-rich structures generally and is not specific to any single disease marker
- We do not quantify specific peptides (e.g., Beta-amyloid 42/40 ratios) as measured by hospital mass spectrometry assays
- We do not perform PET imaging or measure brain plaque deposits
- AI-assisted analysis is a tool to support physician review, not a replacement for clinical judgment
- No microscopy service can detect all possible blood anomalies or conditions
**What This Test Does NOT Measure:**
- Circulating spike protein levels
- Specific viral or bacterial infections
- Alzheimer's Disease biomarkers (Beta-amyloid 42/40, tau protein)
- Standard coagulation parameters (PT, PTT, D-dimer, fibrinogen)
- Any specific disease diagnosis
No Doctor-Patient Relationship
Using AmyloidTest does not create a doctor-patient, physician-patient, or any clinical care relationship between you and AmyloidTest, its employees, or its laboratory partners.
Our physician reviewers assess microscopy findings in a laboratory context. They do not:
- Provide medical diagnoses
- Recommend specific treatments
- Prescribe medications
- Manage your medical care
- Replace your primary care physician or specialist
You retain full responsibility for:
- Consulting with qualified healthcare providers regarding your health
- Sharing your report with appropriate medical professionals
- Making decisions about further testing, evaluation, or treatment
- Following up on any health concerns with licensed practitioners
Results Interpretation
Your Photographic Microscopy Report presents observational findings from microscopy analysis. The presence, absence, or characteristics of amyloid-like fibrin structures in a dried blood sample does not, by itself, confirm or rule out any specific medical condition.
Findings should be interpreted in the context of:
- Your complete medical history
- Current symptoms and clinical presentation
- Results from other laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures
- Professional medical evaluation by qualified healthcare providers
Do not make health decisions, start or stop treatments, or disregard professional medical advice based solely on the contents of your report.
Accuracy and Reliability
While we strive for accuracy through physician-supervised, dual-path (AI + human) analysis, no laboratory service can guarantee definitive results. Factors that may affect accuracy include:
- Sample collection technique and adherence to instructions
- Environmental conditions during sample drying and transit
- Time between collection and laboratory processing
- Inherent variability in dried blood spot analysis
- Current state of scientific understanding of amyloid-like fibrin structures
Our methodology is based on published, peer-reviewed research but remains an evolving area of scientific investigation. Findings should be considered as one data point among many in a comprehensive health evaluation.
Financial Disclaimer
Our service is offered at $160 USD / $3,200 MXN as an accessible first-line screening tool. This pricing reflects our AI-assisted workflow and is significantly lower than hospital-based amyloid testing ($750–$5,000+).
The lower cost compared to hospital testing reflects:
- Different methodology (fluorescence microscopy vs. mass spectrometry or PET imaging)
- Different clinical question (post-viral coagulation patterns vs. neurological biomarkers)
- AI-assisted workflow efficiencies
- Our Mexico-based laboratory operations
Lower cost does not imply equivalent clinical utility to hospital-based diagnostics. These are fundamentally different tests asking different clinical questions. Many patients use our screening as a rational first step before pursuing more expensive specialized diagnostics.
Health Emergency Disclaimer
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency services immediately (911 in the US, 911 or 065 in Mexico, 112 in the EU, or your local equivalent).
AmyloidTest is not an emergency service. Our turnaround time is 1 business day from laboratory receipt plus shipping time. Do not rely on this service for urgent medical situations.
Research and Educational Use
Our service may be used by researchers and educators studying post-viral coagulation patterns, amyloid-like fibrin structures, and related topics. However:
- Research use must comply with applicable ethics board and institutional review requirements
- Our reports are not validated research instruments and should not be represented as such in published studies
- Bulk or institutional use requires separate agreement — contact support@amyloid-test.com
- Any public citation of our methodology should reference the underlying published research
